Understanding the Price Comparison

The price comparison tool shows you estimated landed cost for designer alternatives at different quality tiers and from different purchasing channels. The comparison accounts for item price, agent service fees, and estimated shipping to your destination to produce a comparable total cost figure across options.

Price comparison between tiers should be read alongside quality expectations, not just absolute cost. A B1 option at half the price of a B3 option is not necessarily the better value — if the B1 accuracy is significantly lower, the value per quality unit may actually favour the B3. Use the comparison as a starting point for budget planning, then research the specific quality characteristics of each tier for your item before making a final decision.

Regional price differences are reflected in the shipping estimates. US buyers face different total costs than EU or UK buyers due to tariff and shipping rate differences. The comparison tool provides destination-specific estimates based on your selected region. Review the fee calculator for more granular shipping estimates if the comparison tool's shipping estimate is a significant factor in your decision.

Total Cost Methodology

Accurate price comparison requires including all cost components: item price, purchasing agent service fee (tiered by item value), international shipping (calculated on volumetric or actual weight, whichever is higher), and potential import duty in your destination country. Comparing item prices alone produces misleading results — a cheaper item with higher shipping cost may have a higher total landed cost than a more expensive item that ships more efficiently.

Agent fee differences between platforms can be significant for high-value items. At ¥500 item value, fee differences of 2-3% between agents translate to ¥10-15 per item. Across a multi-item haul, these differences compound. For large hauls, running the fee calculator comparison across multiple agents before committing to platform selection is worthwhile.
